mystery noise
got a noise which sounds like the kickstart pedal is being pushed down when the engine is running, although not as heavy, it disapears when you pull the clutch in and put it into gear,I`ve had it apart replaced all the needle rollers re-shimmed the end plate, no difference, only bearing I didn`t change was the main end plate roller bearing, it seems ok though. any ideas anyone?

check the kickstart sping is sitting where it should be
I generally put some marker pen on the kickstart shaft when building an engine, then you can see what's rubbing where. had this today on fitting a new kickstart shaft, it was not springing back up smoothly as i tightened the sidecase, but could easilt see where i need to remove some metal from the shaft as the pen had rubbed off.
