To me the best thing for a T5 is malossi 172, T5 4th geat, 21 tooth clutch and a standard/ sito exhaust, standard carb. But as you have a polini it would be worth speaking to Diablo about keeping it and what can be done

Al built one for Mongo with a Polini which is posted in the dyno section as is my 172 reedvalved which is an older 1 but should be re dynoing it soon as its got a Taffy exhaust and 21 tooth clutch now

Ducksta - my spec was Polini barrel bored out to 64mil, Suzuki TS185 piston, Standard flowed crank using an eccentric crank pin to add extra stroke, mmw cylinder head, standard carb, 135mj, Taffspeed exhaust and MTEC advance retard on level 9. It gives just over 19bhp and just over 16ft/lb torque. On the road it'll achieve 70 easily. Revs as a T5 should, but with the added advantage of more torque. I think Al put taller gearing in it as well. There's a dyno printout of it on the Vespa dyno chart on here. Hope that helps. :)
