Looking at the possibility of fitting a hydraulic disc brake to a MK1 (squaretail) T5.
Has anyone out there done a similar conversion and if so any advise you can offer...
ie where did you get / what make of master cylinder did you use, which is best full or semi hydraulic set up, any problems with mounting the master cylinder to the headset?

On my mk1 i've got a remote master cylinder which is mounted in the glovebox to keep the headset looking standard. The hub and disc i used was an LML which I got from Eddie Bullet in Bristol. I liked the LML hub as it looked like the standard T5 hub, but with a disc on the back. You also need to cut a hole in the front mudguard for the brake lines to pass through. The whole set up works really well.

I like Mongo, went for the remote master cylinder in the toolbox. Have heard people say these are not very good, although i disagree. I have an auto front wheel complete and if i pull on it, i stop rapidly.
Beedspeed for the remote master, mounted in toolboox and a Lambretta cable adj. block to take the front brake cable.
Jobs a good 'un.

If you type in 'Dave Workmans Rally' into the search facility it'll show you some photos of the remote set used on my old rally again mounted in the toolbox. It uses a typhoon master cylinder. It's virtually the same set up on my T5, just a different reservoir. They work a treat in my opinion, and you can still get plenty of spares, oil etc in the toolbox with it. Hope this helps.

On a T5, I went for the full hydraulic version from ScootRS.
