Clutch plate gap,how much is too much?
Just done 75 miles today running in a new barrel, when giving it a bit of throttle , can feel it slipping.set up is a scootrs deepened crown wheel and spider, indian clutch bell, all match up OK and aligned with the front sprocket and a LTH plus 5 plate set up,which is the one with the thinner corks but standard size steels.Going to take the sidecasing off tomorrow, when I put it together I used a LI top plate as I thought more gap the better, have a gap of about 1.7 between the plates, would this larger gap cause slip? If I put a GP top plate in theory this should give me 1.2,any thoughts gratefully received.I do hope to stick with this set up as apart from the slip, its great, smooth through the gears and doesn't need popeye to pull the lever in.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.

Cheers Dean,so to big a gap is as bad as to tight? May have to mix and match, maybe put a standard cork in and replace one of the thinner ones, also got some readspeed hard as feck springs somewhere might have a play with them as well.

Thought I'd just close/update the thread.Changed the top plate today to the thicker GP type, taking the gap down to 1.1,no more slip
.
