Can the asso really handle the mods for full reed conversion and are there any wire rings that can replace the standard asso 1.5's

hi,i am going to use the asso in my rapido 230,with mb reed valve, rang af to check availability of pistons, and ben said there prefered way was to cut the skirt from the gudgeon pin to the bottom of the skirt, for maximum inlet duration,he said having windows would gain no advantage over the other method,i think he quoted me approx.£90 for piston and £7 to cut the skirt,he said you can use the mahle piston as well which is cheaper.
