early casings with no recess foir oil thrower washer

hi all :)
i am doing a engine rebuild for a friend as his casing is cracked.... the casing i have to replace the damaged one is an early one as there is no recess for the oil thrower washer....
do i just rebuild without the washer and adjust rear sprocket to suit or not..???

the case you have will be a series 1 case .. i think you may have answered you own question .. but you could use a shim instead of thrower if you have problems

When I built my motor 4 or so years ago, we just put a chamfer in there and added the oil throw washer as it would be in a later case. No problems and been running it since.
