Ok, I am having some clutch problems on my jet200. It's a four plate clutch with updated springs in a rapido classic 225, nk road pipe and a 30mm phbh.

I went out for a run last night, one of the longest I've been out for and I opened her up a bit too. Then the clutch started slip, revs pick up but the bike didn't get any faster. At one point I could even open the throttle past about 1/5 open.

Tonight, my dad adjusted the cables and went out for a run. No sign of any slipping. But now when you start it and go into gear it'll jolt and stall as if it is dragging. And if you adjust the cables the kick start will become soft and not engage.

So I guess I'm going to have to split the casings? What should I look out for and check?

check gap between clutch plates over 1mm when fully compressed
no warped clutch steels
springs centred in the recesses properly
springs aren't coil bound,all same height
no burr marks on the crown wheel
no burr marks on the spider
clutch bell isn't buckled/on the pi$$ (I had a new one which was warped at the top only noticed after I'd fitted it and had clutch drag took it out and saw then )
check the spider protrudes through the crownwheel Ok as per the sticky book,not too much
the clutch arm on the sidecasing in the correct position
clutch cable routed OK

I had a similar problem on mine - clutch either dragged when pulled fully in or if backed off enough to stop it dragging, kickstart just went soggy. Turned out the clutch bell was warped - only a bit (where one spring located) but obviously enough to cause a problem.

Thanks for the replies, I guess the only thing to do is to split the casings and have a look.
