A wise man once told me that you shouldn't oil a foam filter. It makes them run rich initially. You jet accordingly and then as they dry out they become progressively leaner and you run the risk of seizing. What size filter are you looking for?
More than likely as a breath sweet will allow more air to flow and is not as restrictive as a ram air.

that's what i thought, so maybe richen up the main jet a bit??

I don't like the sound of it. Breathing through the air box is much preferable in my opinion. It allows a reasonably predictable flow of air.

Regarding the oil for the filter, i always use Motul blue oil filter which is a real sticking b@5t@rd when used without gloves.
It is really needed to prevent the dust to enter the carb.
I never use to dip the filter directly in the oil or to smear too much oil aorund it because then you have to lean your carb setting.
I just apply it around the filter gently creating a slight film.
Its difficult to say what will need richening up. Needle and main are most important in that order in my opinion as most riding is done on the needle. Put the filter on and give it a bit of run.......try it with the needle raised up a clip or you can even get a half shim to fit under the needle.
