series 2 petrol tank

will a series 2 petrol tank fit a series 3?
making a series 3 lammy bitsa at present and the tank i was going to use is from a series 2....i remember reading somewhere they are dimesionally different...and visualy it dosnt have chamfers on the top edge where the panels sit
its all ready to be painted and cant do another dry build so anyone know?

Yes it does. Are you getting confused with the Spanish tank? I understood the S2 tank was a little wider and you might struggle to fit it in beneath S3 panels.
