Stator fault?

Hi

Just had my scoot dyno'd & its set up properly, but it will not start when cold unless I bump it, also if i go through the revs in each gear it stutters & struggles, vibrating modestly as I reach a certain amount of revs. I'm running an af electronic lightened f/w recently bought.

Has this problem started since it was set up?

yes, and its worse of the lights are on the 'o' position, its s2 btw.

no before, it went alright on the dyno though, then after the dyno i went down the cashpoint on it, and it was juddering along with the lights in the '0' position on the switch, i flicked the lights on & it shot forward. But it will not go past a certain amount of revs before it starts vibrating a fair bit & it wont start when its cold at all unless bumped.

Try taking the green wire out of the CDI, the one that goes to the ignition switch (not the one that goes to the stator) that will eliminate any possibility that it's the igniton switch earthing out. You will need to stall the moter in gear in order to stop it ;)
