I snapped my snapped kickstart shaft late last year, which I replaced. I had to carefully grind away the top of the shaft (as you do) so not to foul the clutch. Over the weekend I went on the first serious distance on it. When it was warm I noticed a slight clutch slip whilst accelerating ( but only when warm) My thinking is......if i hav'nt ground enough of the shaft, could it be causing the slipping due to heat/ expansion? Yes......If you haven't ground enough off the shaft, it will press against the top clutch plate giving it the impression that the clutch lever is being pulled in. Also check that the little bronze bush on the clutch lever arm in the side casing is not stuck out as that happened to a mate of mine causing same problem.
