rafferty newman wildcat 225cc in original box

just been to a work colleagues house showing me his old motor bikes he has on the shelf a rafferty newman wildcat 225cc kit still in the box is it worth me pestering him for it .

As a performance tuning part probably not...

As a collectors item it prob should be in a museum. I'm sure there's some as would pay through the nose eyes and ears to get their hands on it...

If it's a 225 5 port it's definitely worth having. In the late 60's I had a go on a friends GT 200 fitted with this kit. It pulled 4th really easily and was much smoother than other GTs I had ridden. That's on a 20mm carb and standard exhaust as well.

as a museum piece unused its interesting, im sure Tino Saatchi would like it for the Lambretta museum. as a kit its just an old design. there were a few knocking around still in the 80's and i can't remember being impressed allied to the silly 52mm clubman that you couldnt tighten the exhaust stud nuts up on.. All the dinosaurs died out with the TS1 arrival.

On the plus side,you could get it and have "Geoff" in graphics on your panels.
