Spark & Fuel but won’t start- HELP!
Any ideas would be appreciated
Stage 4 Indian 200 was running fine, then started cutting out and would run for about 20 mins each time then stop...now can’t get it started.
I’ve tried the following:
New stator plate (BeedSpeed re-wired) I’ve tested it with a meter as Sticky book and it seems spot on
New CDI of a running scooter
Different fly wheel and wood ruff key
Different barrel, piston and carb of a previously running engine
Re-set the timing
Disconnected the rest of the loom.
Get a great spark and wet plug and an occasional back fire, but just won’t start
Has a Mez crank fitted, which shows no obvious signs of being twisted, although I have not yet removed it from the engine.
Help!!!
Cheers

Went through the same(ish) pain just recently (http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic ... 71#p145971)lockman69 wrote:Spark & Fuel but won’t start- HELP!

Scoot would run for a few mins and stop.. once cooled it would go for a few more mins.. changed all as you have done over a couple of weeks with varying degrees of success/failure eliminating the stop start issues .. but just wouldn't pull under load.. then changed all top end seals.. now (hate to say it) runs like it should

New HT lead, suppressor cap?
Tried a brand new plug?
It might look like your getting a good spark but could be fooling you.
Piston in the correct way up?

Have you looked at the fuel tap handle, mine was turning on the link rod which goes to the tap, would only turn it enough to go about 800yrds then it would cut out,but while your trying to sus out whats wrong the carb would fill up again and off it would go for another 800yrds,fitted a new tap link rod and all ok
