Looking for an external Disc brake for my RB20, have seen Beedspeed ones for £170. Any one got any feedbadck on them, or can recomend others for around the same price?

I have a ScootRS [with the nissin caliper], I really rate it. Like all hydraulic discs a bit severe if used too sharply, but very progressive. it's saved me a few times.
I picked it up [brand new from ScootRS] on ebay for £104. That was a couple of years ago, not sure if they still do, but they did seem to chuck one on there for open bidding from time to time.
I changed the supplied rubber hose for stainless braided of course.

I have no experience of the Beedspeed kits.
JustLambretta have what look like the SR kits for £199, but says out of stock, worth asking corrado ?

As i am sure you have read, there are some supposedly inferior copies out there that may be best to avoid, particularly after seeing bufficus' pic earlier :shocking:

As byron says Scoot RS disc is a quality Item....I have fitted 3 to date with no problems... all worked well.....Good price too..

I reckon the scootRs are Ok... I have one on my race bike... however the master cylinders i don't think are as good quality as the discs!

I'm out of stock of them (www.justlambretta.com). I would say only buy a kit (of the Vietnamese variety) that has Nissin master cylinder and caliper.
Preferably I'd go for a UK made one from Frank at Lambretta Innovations in Preston as he can supply it with anti dive also which really does enhance how well they work. Frank's use the same caliper as std on new Vespas so parts should be more freely available. The disc is smaller on these so they are less aggressive. They're a few quid more but made in UK is worth paying that bit extra for when your life is on the line.
Anyone selling the Vietnamese outboard kits with Nissin components for less than £200 probably has some stock left from a few months ago bought when the pound was strong against the dollar, once the stock has gone and they've got to reorder from Vietnam you'll probably find that the prices will increase by at least 25% making the kits around the £250 mark.

ScootRS are currently charging 289 dollars. Thats around 200 quid now that the pound has nosedived. In addition to that they'll be postage and probably VAT. You're probably looking at £260. Slightly more if you go for a braided hose (which looks better, is easier to fit neatly and works better).

This time last year you could have got one for less than 200 quid including shipping and tax. Stupid bankers!

I got my outboard disc brake from Justlambretta and I've no idea why I never fitted one a long time ago. Amazing piece of kit compared to the standard drum brake and if running a tuned engine, your mad not having one.

It's right up there along with changing to 12 volt as one of the best (and safest) modifications you can make to a Lambretta.

I changed from a Scootrs one to the Lambretta innovations anti dive set up, best thing I ever did ! better braking very progressive and more control, bit more expensive than the Scootrs one but worth every penny on my RB240.
