Hi I have a problem with my t5 when it comes to starting off from a stand still when there is a
steep incline. it won't go even if you give it full revs it just burbbles along for about ten yards or so then picks up and flys off even if you slip the clutch. any ideas thanks ian :wtf:

It could be fuel starvation, the fuel outlet is very low in relation to the carb, is it any better on a full tank? Standard carb?

It might be an idea to pull the petrol pipe off the carb and check the fuel flow, then do the same on a hill and see it is reduced. The bottom the the fuel tank is quite low in relation to the carb inlet so it would be a good idea to check that the pipe doesn't dip below the float bowl. It could be this that is causing when you are on a hill.

I doubt that it will be your problem but I also had loss of power on my T5. It would start and run fine with just me on it but as soon a the wife got on the back it would die and struggle to get ove 25mph :( She only weighs in at 8 stone so I couldn't blame it on her 8-) It drove me mad for weeks, checked for inlet bellows collapsing on suspension, fuel pipe issues and flow. wiring on CDI and in junction box but could find nothing. Eventually , thinking it might be related to carb float issues as it was running a 28 PHBH, I futted a new standard 24mm carb and found the problem whilst removing the PHBH manifold, the rear most mounting bolt was shanked and had run out of thread bafore tightening down on the manifold  Must have been like it when I bought it and had gradually started to leak  I carried on and fitted the standard carb anyway and never had any more problems with it.....scooters

thanks coaster for the reply i think the tank is coming out as i have a fast flow fuel tap to fit and while i'm at it change and check the fuel pipe.

Good luck with getting that fuel tap reconnected, you might want to practice a few choice swear words first ;)
