Now that I've done my DC conversion :anbrgin; I'd rather like to switch my lights using the ignition switch and use the handlebar switch for my Pathfinders.
I have the full handlebar switch with High/Low beam, horn and 3 way rocker for headlights/off/side light positions.
Is there an easy way to do this? It looks to me like a major modification is necessary to the switch?
Any help appreciated.
I get my kicks out on the floor.

what model scoot have you got ?. i have some 60's marchal lights on my series 2 they were after market lights for ferraris ect, anyway they have side dip/main in the lights. i used an indian (trapizoidal shape) switch as this has an extra toggle for indicators, i used the indicator swith for dip and main in the spots then the dip and main switch for the scoots own headlight then the ignition swith to turn the scoots own side and headlight on/of as normal. no extra switches and no relays and no over loading of switches.

It must be wired up differently to mine. It sounds like it's specifically for indicators. I guess it's one of these Thanks that looks a good option.

Good luck in finding one of those! I've tried everywhere but no luck.
SR have got some really old & tatty ones but none that I'd want to put on my bike.
They seem to be very rare as even dealers who's websites say they have them, haven't.
I'm now trying to convert an Li switch to use as an indicator switch - I'm sure it can be done but it's fiddly!

I've done a bit of rewiring and now the 2nd position on my ignition sends current to the light switch and it works as normal. The 3rd position operates the light switch as per position 2 but also lights up both Pathfinders.
I really wanted the Pathfinders to light separately but this is the best I can do at the moment/

My original set up had position 2 for spot and 3 for fog, with the standard lights operating as normal off the light switch, but it meant that the normal lights could be switched on at any time even with the key removed. My lammy originally had a kill switch.

Now at least the key needs to be turned to operate the lights.

I struggled with doing indicators from my series 1 light switch after fitting an ignition switch, Using the Ignition Switch for the lights wasn't a problem and I had all working as should, with side and parking on 2nd, headlights on 3rd via dip and full beam on the handlebar BUT when I came to add the indicators I could not pick up a permanent live on all positions other than off. In the end I had to do without side lights only, so in my case its off, engine on no lights at position 2, 3, and aux. with left and right indicators. The aux is a good one as you can not have lights on a Lambretta without the engine running, I'm told.......Go DC I say......I then get a lecture about how my battery wont last long, half wave rectification, when I try and explain Wassel and that battery technology has moved on from a BSA Norton Battery I usually give up and bow to the experience of the sixty's.

Indian style switch ?
You would need an Italian [or copy] ignition switch to achieve that.
But why do you want that ?

I think it's a DC Li switch you need, it has an extra wire you can use for your Pathfinders. Jem Booth rewired the one I had to operate Pathfinders ;-)

Hmmm yes, I've seen your photos. It'd be interesting to know how it was rewired  Any internal rewiring details? The extra wire is the crucial bit. It's just knowing how the thing is wired. last time I took one to bits it took me an age to get it back together

You're in luck Shaun, I just found some picture I took when I had it done...

This was designed to operate the Pathfinders with the bottom rocker and switch on the fog in the left position, off in the middle, and fog & spot in the right position, hence the pink wire jumper.

Hope this helps ;-)
