cheers

Never found any improvement in performance even with 3% added to the mix.
It can help only if tou have pinking issues.

Octane booster will not increase performance on its own, the idea of octane booster is to make the fuel more stable and less likely to pink. Therefore, the benefit is that higher octane allows for higher compression and the performance gain that the higher compression allows. However, if you rely on higher octane fuel to stop detonation then you better make sure that you don't run out of booster or you'll be pinking and holing pistons before long!

i`ve been running my TS1`s on standard unleaded since it came in (both heads were changed at the time with ones done by chiselspeed) both on original pistons with 1000`s of trouble free miles (regular top checks, new rings and reeds and oil changes) Both a touch over jetted - plug on dark side but that how i like it - never been near a dyno and never will.

what with the increasing petrol problems we are hearing about I bought some silkolene proboost and have ran it in both bikes at 2% - but only on short runs one to croft (50 miles round trip) and the other to whitby (90 miles round trip) - No performance increase was expected - i didnt do it for that reason- I was looking to compensate crap fuel

I`m going to keep using this year and see how it goes and what the top ends look like at the end of the year

Certainly wont do any harm but it is increasing the cost of every fill up

about 8 yrs ago i did alot of research into fuels and octane boosters ,read a lot of white papers that i found on the web and reports that were available the conclusions to many of the tests were that the octane boosters were only changing the octane rating by around 1 point regardless of how much was added and most people were adding it to std unleaded 97 octane when there was 98/99 octane fuels available at the pump ,the octane boosters at the time were around £10 a bottle and super was few pence a litre dearer so the advise of the story was buy the highest octane at the pump
a friend of mine who did rallying reccommended a millers octane booster that reportedly added 3 points so i gave it a try on a race motor with tests on higher comp and advanced timing and gave no gains where on race fuel it did
some mates with aircooled yam rd 250/400 etc have been using a fuel additive that from there tests appear to be having good results, there always tuning and playing with jets and have suffered the odd holed piston over the years but seem happier now with plug chops and piston crown colour with this stuff in there tanks, ill find out a little more about what it is and post there findings
