An ask on behalf of a SIP GP200 owning mate (think it is anyway as it has a big bore kit on it). We were out the other night (me on my sports bike, him on his Lammy), Anyway, he was quite taken the the indicator/lighting arrangement I have on my bike (ZX636R). I've done a fair amount of rework to it since I bought it to put in CREEs all round/Mirror indicator conversion off a GSXR1000 and a HID headlight conversion, but the previous owner put in an LED tail and turn light conversion which I retained, and then I added an additional set of external ally indicators to the tail tidy to improve vision from the side as well as the rear (I'm a bit paranoid about being seen when indicating)

Anyhow, Has anyone come across a unit you can buy as a direct replacement for the OEM light assembly on a Lambretta which has both superbright LEDS with red Tail & stop, and Amber Turns at the sides like mine as I've had a scout and can't find anything ? (the unit for mine can be bought off Ebay so no problem sourcing it)

Here is a vid of mine anyway so you get the gist of what he was looking at.

We have the BGM LED rear light, now if it could be converted to this.... or if yours could be converted to fit, that would be good.

What does your MOT tester think of it?

I always understood that the turn signal had to be clearly separate from the stop and tail.

I've got a lamby polo and that has them all in one unit (not LED though) and there was a problem with them in the 80s but that might have been because the turn signals aren't far enough apart.

It'll be some time before I have to sort it out for my polo as its down the queue.

There are some LED light units for twist and gos, it's just a case of finding one you can shoehorn I to a Lambretta unit.

It has been through the MOT twice now as this since I bought the bike with no problem at all. I got stopped for speeding in Nov and whilst I got a ticket for that, he didn't bat an eyelid at the bike.

I don't think there's a problem here as I've seen loads of Harley Davidsons with this set up.

I'll see if I can find anywhere on the Direct.gov site if there are any regs for this.
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

Just found this that may be of help, covers all aspects of what the MOT tester looks for and also has some questions and answers

Looks as though it's OK to fit a stop/tail light that has combined indicators
