Need someone with a S2 or S3 and a tape meaasure ?

Hi all, I'm trying to get some numbers together and I need your help.

I need a measurement in mm of the distance between the centre of the rear wheel spindle, and the front of the cowling (access hatch) on a S2 or S3 (larger frame) Lambretta.

I also need the diameter of the rear wheel and fitted tyre as a total to check the clearances, and the distance between the front of the access panel to the rear of the bike.

I'm looking tentatively at a conversion, and need to see how much space is needed and can be shaved.

Thanks in advance Ash :)

you can mess about with the tyre size and save a lot of room that way

Ive gone wide on mine (130/70-10), but managed to get it small diameter overall this helping with clearance issues with my conversion/build

the height of your engine will also play a huge part, in the overall length and wheelbase

Im slinging mine down low and bringing the exhaust out round the side to gain clearance, this keeps COG down low, but also means that the rear wheel can come further forward, I DO NOT want to end up with a stretched back end or tyre right back in the bodywork, just doesnt work for me

tyre od is easy

10" rim is 254mm dia
for example 90/90-10 tyre =416mm dia

so the diameter of the tyre is 90% of the width x 2 + the rim dia

90x0.9= 81 81x2=162 162+254=416

I dont have a base model LOL Im starting from scratch, building my own frame, all I have used so far is some GP forks and bodywork

my own headstock so I can run taper race bearings

alloy wheels front and rear with huge disc up front and radial calipers

going for a fat tyred (130-70-10 rear and 120-70-10 front)GP street racer look, with fully tuned cagiva mito 33bhp motor, light, fast and cheap :) electric start, good fun, but most of all Im trying to keep an italian theme, ducati switchgear, brembo brakes etc

couldnt afford a frame to get started with, so have built my own, creating a hell of a lot of work for myself but its the only way I can afford to do it

Im not doing the engine with tiny swingarm route, Im building the whole rear arm to carry the engine etc.

will be starting a build thread on here soon, but just finished one trike build, got another to do for my wife, then a bike to build for a neighbour, the scooter is taking a bit of a back seat and getting worked on as and when I can afford the bits

Excellent Tony 8-) Have you made working drawings of them as yet ?
