Why are ram air foam filters 10 quid more than others on the market?

Surely its all the same material..just paying for the brand??

They're less than £20 on fleabay...and I'd suspect that some of those other ones at a fiver are 'air filter shaped objects'...good luck

I'm sure someone will explain the difference but every foam filter I've seen appears to me made of the same stuff we used to buy on a roll for next to nothing and cut up to fit into PC dust filters. I've never really understood why they cost so much.

Talking cars here but in all the test I've seen on air filters the standard paper filter usually comes out best. The so called "performance" air filters are usually crap.
I get my kicks out on the floor.

It must cost about 20p to manufacture a foam air filter. You should get yourself down to your local MotoX shop, buy some foam and make them yourselves. Absolutely criminally over priced as far as I can see.
