which carb?

People will be getting sick of me by now :P

Ok I have a rapido classic 225, nk rally and I was planning on using a 35mm mikuni tmx but I think its a 38mm mikuni... Which will be very impractical for my needs. I know we've gone through this before :S

So which carb would you go for? The tried and tested dellorto 30mm phbh? Or something a little different, I like the idea of a tmx carb as they offer good pannel clearance.

Cheers once again,

TMX30 worked well on a Muggy 225, with ramair and JL3. Jetting among fist few on carb setups.

Carb: TMX 30 mm Mikuni.
Set up: Needle 5EL68-3

Cheers for that. I'll look into prices for the carb. Do you know if the needles and jets are the same as the 35mm?

Also, I am quite liking the look of the bgm pwk carbs any one run one on a simlar set up?

Answer A:
For ease and price, a 28 or 30 mil PHBH. They're not the most modern or amazing, but they are well priced. They're a piece of pi ss to set up. The bits are plentiful and cheap.

Answer B:
Don't be a puff. Use the 38.

havn`t got a rapido but have got a ts1 that used to run 35mm mikuni ,and although set up on a dyno always suffered an amount of four stroking , changrd to a 30mm dellorto with camlam power jet ,again set up on a dyno and to be honest the graphs ,show very little difference between them ,in fact ,if i remember correctly ,the dellorto was slightly better, and it improved fuel consumtion .......so biggest is not always better :D ......just something else to consider !!

That air striker does look like an impressive carb, but its out of my budget.

I have been looking at this carb, http://www.scooter-center.com/scoweb/pa ... egory2=CAT

A friend of mine highly rates this carb, is it worth the extra cash over a phbh? And does it use the same jets as a phbh?

Cheers,
