Does anyone know why, when accelerating, it jumps out of second gear, usually only when the scoot is cold? Don't seem to have the problem when warm!

Mine always jumped out of gear under load both cold or warm, Sean changed the spring in the gearbox to a stronger one when the Avanti was fitted and its a distant memory now.

I did fit extra strong springs from SR, perhaps they're not strong enough?

Springs? Are you talking about clutch springs? It's the layshaft spring that needs uprating.

Are right, no, I uprated the clutch springs x 5. Thanks for the help.

My li was jumping out of second under power, it was a combination of a worn gear selector and a worn second gear, I replaced both to be on the safe side as I didn't want to have to strip the gearbox down twice! I found a nos second gear cog for £30 and the selector was similar money.
Updated springs can sometimes make the gearchange feel a bit lumpy and hard work at the handlebar so I decided to use a new standard spring on this box.
Hope you get it sorted
