Base gasket or not?

Hi all, is it advisable to run an engine ( Imola ) without a base gasket? If so, what sealant is best to use in it's place? Cheers all.

That's good enough for me! Many thanks to you Ian.Terrible Taff wrote:10 inch Terror wrote:Hi all, is it advisable to run an engine ( Imola ) without a base gasket? If so, what sealant is best to use in it's place? Cheers all.
I have run engines with only Silicon sealant on the base & head joints with no problems at all.
There are many available from bike shops & Halfords so not a problem finding the stuff. RTV Sealant normally blue or clear.
