It's funny you should mention that. I've just had a Casa kit fitted myself and the compression does appear to be on the stiff side. I can kick over a 200 easier. However, I can't say if it's a bad thing or not at this stage. It is a lovely smooth kit though.

The compression on my casa kit was pretty high, it was hard to kick over if not on the stand, but it gave me a few thousand trouble free miles and was lovely to ride

These Casa kits worth the £400? I am after something for my little Serveta 125 to pep it up a little.

I'd say so. So far at least I've been mighty impressed with mine. It goes up hills now.
Really it depends what you are after. It's quite a conservative kit, but with some neat porting as a bonus. It's already giving me indications that it's going to be plenty enough for my needs. Very torquey and surprisingly nippy. Just an all round pleasure to ride. Plus which if you compare it side by side with the Mugello it's better made too. But then the Mugello will probably out perform it.

I agree with Doom Patrol,
The Casa kit is better finished than my mugello kit and is worth every penny if you want a nice torquey touring motor I guess you can expect 11 or 12 bhp with more than that in torque.
My Mugello kit puts out a little over 20bhp and is very different to ride

Have a read
http://servetalambretta.wordpress.com. Unbiased view of all the Casa kit on my engine rebuild and upgrades inc airbox and exhaust and gearing issues.
Mine is probably gonna be tinkered with. For my £ if I did it again I'd go Muggy.

You seem to be chasing performance V8 and I can't help but feel you should have gone for the Mugello kit in the first place. The Casa kit was never intended to be an out and out performance kit.
