exhaust manifold fixing

very mad they just keep coming undone sick of having to keep re-tightening them,wasting gaskets whats the best ways to overcome this problem, wired nuts/wired allen key?????

I use the extended nuts with wirelock on mine also i have used someones idea of a tab washer which you can bend up to help lock the nut i'm afraid on exhausts with the copper gaskets they always need a tweak as the gasket compresses until settled after a few miles , i check the nuts regulally after each rally

like this not my idea but something that was shown to me by taffspeed in the mid 80.s and used on our gp4 race scooters

Agree with toddy i use extended nuts with wirelock,andy francis sells the ones i use a tenner i think good investment

half a tab washer from a chain guide,used on the exhaust nut.

Come on Joe even Rob Skipsey could see the makeshift lock washer under the brass nut :D

Both Toddys way and Shockys way actually work a treat, fitted extended nuts with wire from David Blythe (where has David gone ?), and the lock washer way on a mates, like I say both work a treat, Joe, get to specsavers my old friend :frog:

andy,just been to spec saver and got two pair,but i think that they are two strong when worn at the same time!
thats ok with the tab washer,still like the idea of the short stub with slip on u bend,long bolts wired together.
