Hi guys,
can somebody here tell me the chassisnumber prefix for the spanish TX 200 (Mk1 T5 body, P200 engine). I just recently bought a GS 200 (Mk1 T5 body, P200 engine) and was told it's a spanish scooter. Chassisnumber is VSX2T0001xxx. Is that the same as the TX? And how was the TX engine stamped?
Any information is appreciated a lot, Chris

Found something: 118 M for the engine, 118 C for the chassis. Can anybody confirm this?
Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris
Yes, 118C sounds right for the TX200. Your chassis number looks to be a Piaggio one, but interestingly it does not appear in either of my Piaggio blue books. Is yours the one from northern ireland?
As far as i am aware the GS200 was made by Piaggio for the Belgium, Danish and Swiss markets. The TX200 was made by Moto Vespa in Spain, hence the different numbers. Hope this helps...Perry

Yep Perry, the scooter came via Northern Ireland to me.
The chassisnumber is really genuine, interestingly enough the engine is stamped 118 M and I just got the feeling it's the original engine. So this could be a TX200 with an italian (strange) chassisnumber, for what obscure reason ever (export?)...
There seems not a lot information neither about the TX, nor the GS 200 available.
Cheers, Chris

Hi gents!
I recently had a PX200GS myself, but sold it as it rust as h.ll
I found some info here
http://vespat5.co.uk/squaretails/index. ... 4bf4bbfe5e
But My GS frame had regular PX-frame number, so impossible to know how many of those strange things that have been produced...
Anyway, good luck with a nice scooter!
Rgrds,
Ø
