changed the crank seals on a standard 2007 PX125
all back together and running
went on a 5 mile ish ride, all fine sitting on the stand;, inside the carb box is clean, but then looking in there a few hours later, there is quite a bit of 2 stroke oil at the back, cleaned this up, but then again this morning, more oil has appeared...
had the carb off and cleaned it out more than once, refitted with genuine piaggio gaskets, the oil feed in the carb vent is free and there is evidence of oil, the nut on the oil feed is tight and no signs of any leaks...
So not sure what to check next... could the oil pump be delivering too much oil..?
Not sure where the oil is coming from when the engine is off overnight, and the oil tank is lower than the carb...
thanks

have you used any kind of mastic or gasket sealant between carb and box? if so, it may be partially blocking the galley way for the oil, forcing it into the box. or the pump gasket may need replacing. on autolube vespas, i always put 2% oil into the petrol for the first tank, if ive disturbed the carb/box/pump/oil pipe. until its primed itself. even a small air bubble could mean running for a few miles on no oil. personally, any vespa i have had, ive blocked the oil pump off, and mixed it in the tank.

cheers Jeff, if it was my bike i would do just that, it seems a bit fragile for such a critical part...
no, no sealant or anything used, just some grease smeared on the gaskets.

I'm not sure how a cleaned carb box gets oily when the bike hasn't been run but if your rotary valve is worn you'll get a fair bit of oil splashing up through the carb when the scooter is running . Is the scooter a bit hesitant just off tickover revs when taking off ?

not to take goldeneye,s lime light. Take carb off-turn it upside down you'll see the oilduct fill with silicon(easy pulled or blew out) or fit a p200e carb gasket(no oil duct hole), while carbs out in carb box undo the 3 screws on autolube mechanisim and take worm out. disconnect oil pipe to carb box and let it drain overnight and reconnect...done!...There's a few ways to do it... PS, don,t worry about excessive oil in carb box, it,s only petrolube! all 2 stroke carbs spit, it,s part of the atmospherics of a carb. have a look at the back of other vespa engines there rotten with this! just wash it down with a bit of petrol.....
