I have been told that depending on what colour you use it can go blotchy on cast parts

ive had loads of anodizing done over the years , rule of thumb is that if its machined out of billet then it will come out good , castings are a no no as one piece will be ok and the next terrible , italian casings sometimes come out but as for the rest not a chance !!!! also anything steel has to be removed as the acid dissolves it

As rocho68 said, you need good quality billet aluminum for the color to really stand out, sadly the old engine castings were of a poor grade, I wanted this engine casing jet black, as you can see it turned out chocolate. :wtf:

^ let me rephrase this. The casing had insufficient and poor grade alliminum as the casing is made up of a number of materials
