Hi guys have a mates engine in to rebuild, he's snapped bottom skirt in window in turn making the transfer window open all the time if you get me? Would this be detremental to running as is , although he's cleaned it up and done few miles on it, i'm going for the new piston route as bottom ring stuck in groove also.
Any thoughts?
Cheers Baz

Do you know what Baz I've a brand new one just like that. It got broke by my lil cousin pushing a scoot out the workshop with the selector box off and the barrel off. Clunks in gear piston slaps into casing.
Replaced piston and have thought about using it many times because the casting supports running vertically along the window go all the way down so you would think its maybe worth a chance. Can't bring myself to throw it away.
Wouldn't risk it in a customers bike but I'd risk it in my own.
Shouldn't affect performance though.
