Mate of mine is pulling his hair out. Hes fitted a reed valve and fuel pump ( with a recycle loop with jet acting as a restrictor) to his mallossi 210. Carb is a 30 mm oko. The problem hes having is fuel coming out of the overflow pipe when engine ticking over .

floot level should be set @ 19-20mm (heaps of info online on how to check the float level) and make sure the pump is not too big. on my malossi 210 with pwk set im running the mikuni rectangle one which i think flows 14 ltr p/h the round mikuni pump is no good as it flows 60 ltr from memory

I had dean's scooter in on the Dyno Saturday morning!
Sorted a solution & Dean has sourced the required header tank unit after talking to Martin @ Chiselspeed as I did not have any available. It should be with him by Friday all going well.

Then I will change the pumped fuel supply so that the carb is gravity fed from the new header tank using the fuel pump to keep it supplied with fresh fuel!

This will cure all the problems of over fuelling using a pump & sort fuel starvation due to the float bowl being higher than the fuel level in a half empty tank when loaded for a rally!

Originally we developed the Taffspeed stronger rear & front suspension springs to help cure this when using the standard carb set up, also improving the handling of the Vespa PX Models.

Hope this will give Vespa PX owners that are using a fuel pump the insight to resolveing their carburation problems!
