I replaced the weak front hub backplate on my S2 after reading a few horror stories on various forums.
I ordered an Innocenti one that looks like it may have come from a GP (I assume because it was painted original bright orange) or maybe a S3.
I got it repainted and fitted the brake shoes but I can't seem to fit the two retaining washers under the curclips as the pegs aren't as long as the s2 ones?
Any ideas?
Cheers
Danny

Hello mate, GP's didn't use circlips, they use a W shaped spring instead, like this one:

Ah that would explain it!?
Do I just ditch the two locating washers and use one of these instead?
It's the little things isn't it? Not long now and ill finally get to ride the old girl!

Hello mate, indeed, if it is a GP backplate, you shouldn't need it.
