Is there an easy way of removing a stuck steering lock barrel, without damaging barrel or headset?

Do you have the headset off? If so take a sharp screwdriver to the alloy plate( with the headset upside down) and tap it out you should then be able to push it out from the inside where you removed the alloy plate.
