Just got a fibreglass seat for the sprinter but interested to hear how others may have fitted theirs.
My Initial thought was to put a steel reinforcing plate underneath seat running down its length and drill 4 holes for countersunk hexhead bolts resting on a number of nylon washers to protect the body.
Unless you have a better thought out way of mounting.

would be help full to post some pics of the seat and what you want to fix it to ..is it standard loop etc ??

Eibar, I can't speak from experience yet but I'll be doing this too in a few weeks. I was going to use 4 socket head flange button screws, maybe with repair washers to spread the load on the fibreglass, and nylon washers between the seat and the frame. I'll be putting a 2.5mm racing foam on top as a seat.
I was working on the basis that the fibreglass would be strong enough to cope with my ample weight without any further metal plate but I can see where you're coming from.

I love the word flange it's nearly as good as gusset and neither are used enough

i`ve just done one :-
1. Cut two plates about 125mm square out of 1mm mild steel and drilled a 9mm hole in each corner matching the four holes in the frame behind the petrol tank hole - the mounting position
one plate for the top and one for the bottom (plate/seat/plate) to stop the fibreglass been damaged when finished and bolted up and for the fixing bolts - see item 3 below
2. Ground the heads down on four m8 bolts which where long enough to go through seat and frame to bolt up - ground them down so i could keep the padding as thin as possible and the bolts would nt be felt on my boney arse.
3. Put the bolts throught the plates/seat/plate and a nut on the underside - once it was all lined up on the frame it was nipped up and the bolts welded to the top plate
4. Remove the nuts and replace them with a hard rubber washer to protect the frame/paint
5. painted the plates then covered it
hey presto finished - now i just need a new rack

i take it your using the standard loop? mines going to be fitted to two bars extending up from the frame ( no loop ),going to have several holes for fitment to get the seating right so it can be adjusted as nec, i'm using the old TZ type (cheers Ricspeed ), i will put a small square plate undrneath to spread the load.
