Removing old transfers

Any tips on how or what stuff (turps, isopropanol etc) to use to help some old transfers off without damaging the paint?
They're on an original paint rally and are probably over 30 years old and if they were in a place i liked or were cool i'd leave them but they're biffy looking vcb ones and i'd like to get them off :ninja:

Well ive just teased some off with a hairdryer,,,but take what i say with a pinch of salt..

hairdryer works ..just be aware if the stickers have been on a while you may have a shadow effect were they have been due to paint fade

Use a hairdryer to soften the decal (heat guns are too hot and will blister your paint ) and peel it of carefully.
Once it's off, use WD40 or better still Autosmart Tardis to remove the glue. Do this slowly, soak it, then rub it, repeat until it's gone. Don't be tempted to gouge at it.
If it's faded and it's a solid colour you should be able to polish out the "shadow", if it's clear coated, you will just have to live with it.
