Extended Range P tank question

It seems to me that there is a lot of room where the tank sits. Does anyone have experience with making the stock tank longer and using a fuel pump? How would one plumb the pump if using a MB reed block. Set up is a Stroker Pinasco, Lightened fly, MB reed, 27 mm Mikuni, JL righty on a 1980 US P 200. The goal is a long legged torquer to do distance between stops.

I fitted one of the Scooter Trump ones a year or two ago and it is a good bit of kit. They come with a pump mounted on the bottom and the tank is a tight fit,I had to dent it slightly because it sat on the loom. The vacuum feed I took off the MMW reed block to save stripping the casings and works fine. The tank comes with instructions.
