bit of a dumb question

i know the stud itself is 9mm ..does anyone know the thread size ? is it also 9mm ?

do you mean pitch if so 1.25mm

Yep. Standard M9 with 1.25 pitch = standard px (not t5 or disc they are M10) rear shock bolt bottom nut ;-)
