Best conversion forks????

Brother has a 150 Sprint (P2 lump,) but he's sick of the handling........ now I'm not a large chap but I only had to touch the front brake and it bottomed out so he suggested an upgraded spring. SIP do a replacement that's 30% stronger but my suggestion was perhaps a set of PK forks? Now he's been told that a very early set of PX forks will fit, which I'm not sure of, so want advice. All we both want is a set of forks so that I can fit a decent shock to in order to reduce the "shart" factor when braking!
Ideas please...........

An up rated spring (SIP, Stoffi's or even ScootRS) and good dampener (the adjustable BGM one is nice) will make an old sprint ride a lot nicer up front and won't cost too much cash or be all that much labor. As far as conversion forks go, the PK is the one you want as it's not that hard to make a sprint fender fit it. You need to do major surgery to make it work with a PX fork.
Good luck,
Tim

With PX fork the front end will sit too high, PKXL2 is the way to go.
More info about conversions with plenty of pictures and different fork measurements can be found
here (unfortunately in german, Google translate might work).

pkxl2 forks are threaded all the way up like a t5, pk50 forks are the same as the v range, pk125 forks are what you want, or any pkxl, the drum is good enough without a disc on the xl forks, the steering lock is also different in having a half moon cutout instead of a slot

Harry Barlow, Grand Prix Scooters etc offer a reweld service to fit PX type links and hubs onto older style forks to save going through the nonsense of trying to change them.

Sip do a re made PKXL fork and if you combine it with the ScootRs fully hydraulic disc hub and master cylinder / lever as I have done you have the perfect Vespa set up with classic looks & modern performance

Is there much wrong with regular Sprint front end that a good service, and replace of worn out parts, wouldn't sort out?
(not taking the pi ss..)

The geometry of PX/Pk style fork is much better than in Sprint / Rally. Assuming that both forks are in good condition and have quality suspension parts the scooter with former will handle better.

even with a decent shock on the old type fork it will still need an anti dive to stop it botoming out, providing you can get the brake to work well enough in the first place
