Which hydraulic front disc set up?

Hi all,

Although a newbie I have been a frequent visitor but until now, work etc, I have not had the time to 'get involved'.

I am thinking of going down the outboard hydraulic front brake route on my GP. I realise that it may limit the options but I would rather avoid anything made in the far east unless I could be sure of the quality and if possible I would rather not have to drill the headset for the hose.

So, what would you reccomend?

well funds will play a big part in this. you could get an original disk brake either one that has the hydraulic conversion (thread cut in) or the newer version which retains the hydraulic with the original circlip. Then a geezer on another forum (WKFASC) how goes by the handle TV repairman makes a bracket for a semi hydraulic set up that goes behind your horncast or underneath the leggies, therefore keeping your original look with better brakes. £££££

Hi,anti dive is a must for any front disc on a scooter,been running my own set up and never looked back,I believe frank sanderson does some nice kits or ask the question on here ,what's the best anti dive set up and I'm sure someone will advise you on where to go.

Soulsurfer on here has a very nice german made front disc with anti-dive, i believe he has the master cylinder hidden inside the horncasing to keep original looks on the headset, im sure he'll be along soon with some pic's :)

i use a frank sandreson tubeless rim/hub anti dive on my DAC

a scootrs outboard disc on my wifes skelly converted to anti dive by cs engineering.

cs engineering also made the first plug and play circlip held salve cylinder for a std innocenti disc many years ago and has often been copied but never bettered

BTW The nylocs have been sorted :wink:

There are variations with a smaller disc, antidive, non antidive and you can also get one using an Innocenti type disc brake hub. Also with the smaller disc (200mm) you can fit the SIP caliper.
TBH I need to move the tie bar further down the forks on this one...

Didn't occur to me to search previous topics.

Lots to think about then - thanks for all your help.

The Sandserson/PM Tuning set up looks good............
