Hi.
I have the possibility to put in a jet200 engine with a standard stage4, with Mahle 3 ring piston, with a dellorto 22, a JL4 race exhaust.
What do you think about? I know that i can tune the cylinder and to put another carb .... but that is not the question, because i dont want to change anything, only to know if is ok to put this exhaust.
Thanks!

id say the 4 was way to revvy great in first 3 gears then ......... hit a head wind and your be up and down that box like fluckif you very light it might be ok jl4 is a race pipe and 3 cast rings aint gonn like it or last long

Hi
I seem to recall the JL4 is a race pipe. Therefore, it makes it's power well up the rev range and would be suitable for use with a large carb.

While the set up you propose may work it wouldn't be a very relaxing drive with little torque at the bottom end of the rev range

A quote from Scootersrock.com: "JL Race expansion chamber exhaust, better suited for higher revving machines as it holds the revs on more then the road version for a good all round spread of power. This exhaust is a popular choice for many Lambretta owners with tuned machines."

.........Shocky beat me to it, must type faster!

if you go ahead with this...........please keep us posted.............
i would be really interested to see how it works out/or not........
personally i think the jl4 would be wasted on such a basic set up................
something less "sporty" would probably work much better..............such as an old fresco.....................

Hummm i think the same.
I am not very light, 16 stone :D and 2 meters, not very good for wind days
Thanks!

Funnily enough i've just fitted a jl4 to mines sean, (you done some work to the barrel last year) stage 4 200 indian , mikuni tm24 remote filter and seems a pretty good choice, was out on it yesterday pretty windy up here so thought i'd struggle, but no pulled really well not as good obviously as jl3 but once in the power really felt good and no brick wall effect at 7000rpm as was the characteristics of the jl3. Seats of the pants testing so don't know specifics ie revs etc but fairly happy with the outcome. Also think the gearing at 5.2 really helps with this pipe .
