as for me id like to see it end with 4.5 tv200 4th as 5th building upto it with say li150 4th not sure about 2nd 3rd maybe gp 125?

Cxxt!

I agree tho. What's the point in what I have now basically with a gp200 and 19/46?

600 quid to change gear more often?

I would say the point is that you probably wont have to thrash it so much between the gears as the jumps from gear to gear will be smaller.
I think you will find that it won't let you pull higher gearing because if it wont pull say 4.4 final drive now against winds and up hills its not going to do it just because you put another gear in between getting there. You would need to change your power characteristics to achieve that.
The five speed will allow you to have a smoother, more driveable scoot but i cant see how your suddenly going to be able to pull higher gearing without changing down against winds and hills on the same set up.
Call me a c##t if you like

i se what u saying but i dont hav to keep goin up n down on me scoot it pulls 4th allday what im really after is say an overdrive so when im on a flat an doin 60mph at 6000 revs i can pop it into 5th so doin same speed at 5000 revs

That may well be a possibility. It just depends if your scoot has the power to pull a higher final drive on the flat without reducing fuel economy, as an overgeared scoot will kill your fuel economy even if your doing less revs as your having to give it more throttle to stay at the same speed.
In my opinion chances are that when you buy a five speed your going to have to play about with sprockets to get the perfect set up for your power delivery but i would imagine it will be lovely to ride once perfected.

I think that the racing engines will really take advantage of the benefits of 5 gears because they could tune their cylinders to rev higher, maybe losing some mid-range, but with the chanche to change gears without losing too much revs.

On my RT240 with 2kg flywheel, 30vhsh, Mito clubman and sx200 box 17x46 (4,25 final ratio) i have no problem in pulling the 4th gears and even on short climb or upwind, i don't need to drop in 3rd.

Give a look to the Italian scooter racing championship.
The no.1 rider Crimaz has the same engine as the second one Mauro Murgia (they are official Quattrini drivers) but he is always ahead because he can better employ his 5 gears on the track, even if Mauro has a really good DRT box.

Staying in the power is what it is all about! All you ever need to do to understand this is to take out an older 3-speed model, within half an hour you'll be longing for a 4-speed again. Once used to a decent 5-speed (fingers crossed) then going back to a 4-speed will probably seem the same.

I know that RLC are planning to provide optional 1st and 5th gears to allow people to go slightly further either way and I know that I have a 20 tooth sprocket sitting on the shelf if I want to go higher than 4.7.

We'll have to see how final ratios suit various kits but I'm not ready to pick holes in this one yet, especially as a lot of thought seems to have gone into the individual % rise between gears. This seems to be a good chance of having a decent close ratio box that works all the way through from 1-5, unlike other close ratio boxes that commonly result in too high a 1st ratio by the time that you've changed sprockets to get 4th high enough for cruising use.

I suspect that no five speed box will be perfect for what everyone wants.
Personally, I'd want one that would have a 4.7 4th and a 4.5 or 4.4 fifth. An 'overdrive' style fifth that the bike probably wont 'pull', but will happily sit at 110ks on the flat on the highway.
But I don't have, and never will have, a 'race' engine that needs a fifth gear.
