I had one on my 210 malossi originally, extreme pinking at top end no matter what jet. had to back off the ignition to about 15deg (or less

)
I had a small leak on mine and changed to a Taffy, still had to run the extreme retarded ignition. ended up junking the Malossi HSTR head an getting a slightly lower comp of 11.5-1 (from malossi 12.5-1) head from SIP,I was then able to put timing back at 18deg and run flat out no problem - off the clock

luv it

yes i had the same problem with a mates bike
On a stock p200 motor following full rebuild - put a 125 main jet in it to run the motor in and - he pottered about town and got some miles on it - so off we went to Cleethorpes after about 45miles at about 55mph it holed the piston. No leaks anywhere when i checked it over. As i said it wasn`t mine and the lad was selling it after cleethorpes so it had a new top end put on and i backed the timing off to and put a 128 in but i never got to try it.

if using the HSTR head, try putting a head gasket on it for a test, thus lowering the compression, longer term however you should look at the correct head with correct squish.
also try retarding the ignition.
don't do both together though, one thing at a time.
when you say running lean, is this witnessed from plug chops ?

I've been running a 122 jet on my standard p200e with RZ MKII RHS exhaust for over a year with no snags at all (driven every day) when I got the exhaust, the info I got from the manufacturer said it would run up to a 124 jet but to start with a 122 an do regular plug chops to check the colour. Mine has been fine at the 122 so never bothered upping it to 124.
