seen an advert for the allstyles half headcowling that only covers the left hand side of the cylinder.
i can understand the theory of the design but are they better than a std one for cooling?
do they still work better with full bodywork?
cheers

Hi,
First time i've seen one of these head cowlings!!
I'd be very interested to find out what the theory is behind their design??

Just found these notes/points on their website:
- TUNED ALLOY CYLINDER KITS * TS1-RB-CASA 186-ETC
- CONSTANT COOL AIR WITH NO HOT AIR CIRCULATION
- EASY EXHAUST & INLET ACCESS
- LIGHTWEIGHT * EASY FIT
- UK MADE
This seems to imply that the orginal design cylinder cowling "circulates hot air" ?!?!

they look good to me ,in that cool air is directed over the fins from the flywheel and then exits freely with no obstruction

Makes it easier to whip off and re-torque the head whenever one wishes.
I wonder how well it cools in traffic at low rpm?

I'm a bit brain dead at the minute but is there anything stopping you from, say, welding it to the flywheel cowl and making the whole thing one piece?

i actually thought the same thing ,so long as it could be fitted that way ...
