ok, sorry for such a silly Q, but I never owned a Lambretta and Im building one all by myself from odds and ends, with the associated headscratching that comes with not having a clue LOL

have ordered the sticky manual, waiting for Amazon to sort that

but in the mean time, I been looking at the headset top and bottom I have, and I am stumped

I have a GP headlight, and theres the 2 screw holes, 1 either side of the main lens, I assume something like 3mm fixing screw through there, but what does it screw into?

is there a bracket I need that bolts into my headset part?

Hiya mate. You should have a headlight surround . The lamp sits in that and you screw the suround to the headset. If that makes sense

thanks, I have the chrome surround, with holes in it to put screws through, but theres nothing threaded in the headset top or bottom to actually screw it into :(

I would have expected to have seen a cast boss each side on the inside of the headset bottom, with a thread in the front of it, so I could screw the chrome surround to that, then the lamp adjusts up and down via the screw in the bottom.

but Im flummoxed

building bikes is so much easier, just make the bits you need :)

I have really bitten off more than I can chew with this LOL

hopefully that manual book thing will be here soon.

There should be cast lugs in the headset that line up with the holes of the chrome surround mate

hmm, the joy of parts from ebay, oh well no matter, got to weld in a plate to blank off the speedo hole anyway, so will just make something for mounting the headlight as well

lesson learnt tho, next time I have a bright idea, (ie, I know, lets build a lambretta from scratch just for a giggle) will go and slap myself silly for a bit.................... then go for it anyway.

was ok at the start as my mate was a lambretta god and had all the answers, but sadly he has passed away and I wasnt going to continue this build, was just going to scrap it, but realised thats just wrong, so onwards and upwards

hopefully have it on wheels after Christmas.
