TV175 S2 CYLINDER KITS

Hi All,

I am going to start rebuilding a TV 175 S2 engine soon and was thinking rather than getting a re-bore done on the original cylinder, I would ask if anyone has had any experience with the various standard kits that are available? I have only found an iron cylinder kit for the longer con-rod TV, an alloy cylinder with a steel liner would be ideal but cannot find one for the longer con-rod TV engine.

A friend of mine bought a 175 kit to upgrade his SX 150 and it turned out to be a small ported Lambro cylinder - totally gutless of course.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

SSB

What carb and exhaust do you want to use?

It will be a totally standard set-up ie - TV crank long - con rod, 23mm old style carb, standard exhaust etc etc, so just a good quality standard kit would be just the job. The scoot is in very original condition and I don't want to detract from the state it is in. The engine does need a re-build though.

Cheers

This is all a bit mainstream for you Simon
Isn't/wasn't there a Casa kit to suit the TV crank?

Just bore it out with a TS185 piston and have the head done

Hi Max,

How ya doin? I need to mix the mainstream with the obscure from time to time. This scoot engine has been on the to do list for a while, so while all is quiet on the "freaky front" I thought I would make a start over the Christmas break.
Please point me in the direction of the Casa kit though.

Have you finished that Winter model yet, or are you still saving up to buy a head light rim lol?

Cheers

Simon

MB Racetour 190 kit, I'm fairly sure they can supply it with a piston to suit 116 TV rod. Not cheap but top quality.

Not a complete fruitcake then?
Probably best to speak to Scootopia about the Casa kit, it just rings a bell from when they were first launched, not 100% tho'.
Good call from Martin on the RT kit too.

Haha! Got the light rim, but the whole project's on hold, as is everything at the moment :-(
