Hi all,

can anyone advise or maybe know of any online schematics for the order of assembly for top of fork stem

I have sussed by myself that you have the top bearing, then a nut obviously, but does the lambretta run 2 top nuts to lock it off? the headset clamp will locate itself at the right height due to the cutout for the clamp bolt in the stem, but Im wondering what sort of room/gap there should be between the nut/nuts and the clamp?

I have a slot down the threads, what is this for?

I have to work back from this to make my headstock tube, and then with lower headset in place I can start to locate the legshields at the right height and make mounting brackets etc

damn Im making this hard work LOL

Exploded diagram here. The groove down the fork tube is for a locking ring with a tab on it that sits in the groove

Just get a set from either scooter restos or MB developments, you won't go wrong.

ok thanks, again this great site to the rescue :)

my bearing cups turned out a bit more substantial that I had planned LOL but hey ho, thats what happens when your brain is still in large engined, large wheeled heavy project mode, but it should be in lightweight 125 engine mode DOH!!

will get them back on the lathe and add some groove detailing, knock a few grams off LOL
