Does anyone know if the use of knock sensors has been tried on 2t's ? As lotsa cars seems to have one, could they be be made to work, assuming I suppose some sort of programmable ignition in the first place.

Yep, loads of 2 stroke racers use them. Do a google search for detonation counter.

Can imagine a knock sensor on an old lammy. Would be retarding the ignition so much, as the flywheel cowling rattled its self loose, that it would be firing at BDC

Thanks for that.
Current racing stuff does tend to be pricy though. I was hoping that some cleaver person had adapted some thing from the car world. There must be thousands scraped.
