You don't say which model Garmin but all of the bike satnavs are VERY expensive. A cheaper option is to use a satnav for a car and buy a waterproof motorcycle mount to fit it to your scooter. I have a waterproof case for my TomTom which is clamped round the nearside mirror stem on my GTS and also fits onto an ally bracket attached to the legshield toolbox of my lammy. It went all the way to the Euro Lambretta meeting in Ireland and back this year in terrential rain and didn't leak a drop (more than can be said for my riding gear  )

They are available in various sizes, I also have one for my iphone.

That isn't a bike one so won't be waterproof of have a suitable mount. That's why the link I posted above is useful, check his on line shop and see if he does one with the dimentions to fit the Garmin Nuvi.

Hi, appologies for the previous link, the product is the same but it wasn't the actual seller I used. This is the actual guy

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-SATNAV-CA ... 4cf67142bd

As you cab see, the Garmin Nuvi is listed as one of the models that will fit. As for scooter attachment, the case clips onto a bracket that is designed to clamp round a set of handle bars so strictly speaking, they aren't designed for scooters, even the £400 motorbike ones aren't However, with some inginuity it is possible to find a way of mounting the clip. see pics below of the way I fitted the one on my Vespa GTS (on mirror arm) but I won't get a chance to take a picture of the lambretta solution until the weekend. Basically though, I took the clamp apart and bolted the top part with the clip onto a small piece of bent ally which I then attached to the top of the legshield toolbox.

Tom Tom Rider............ £230 in Argos, comes with mount (which fits after a bit of jiggery pokery,) is 100% waterproof and you can have a little red scooter icon like mine :D
Downside is that it no longer comes with a charging mount (another £50 thieving gets,) but you can charge it off a ciggie lighter in your butty box when not riding.

As promised, here's some pics of the same type of mount (just the top part) screwed to a simple ally bracket mounted on top of my legshield toolbox. I will probably make another one and fix it to the 2 throttle support screws.
