looks like someone has went to a lot of trouble and epoxy filled the unused port elements to ensure smoothest possible gas flow up the transfers, nice job too if you aske me.

Transfers look fine to me. Piston says total lubrication failure. MIne did the same last month probaby due to crappy petrol with ethanol in it. Mine was running 3% fully synthetic premix and died within 5 miles of a fill of BP unleaded with ethanol in it. That engine had been bulletproof for years..

cheers for your replies on the ports , as for the piston not sure were he got the petrol from its allways been run on 3% mix i wondering if the carb is an issue its a 28mil spaco not sure what jets yet as i havent stripped that yet

That's been pinking it's tits off......... plug will be covered in alloy?
Either timing, bad fuel, too hot a plug or too high compression.
Doesn't look like lube failure or else it would also be scored on the boost side of the piston.

timing set at IT which i know isnt rite , malossi head , an no base gasket not sure what the setup was meant to be with motor , i will be stripping it soon to fit new bearings an seals an i would really like it setup rite for my m8 so all help an advise would be greatly received thanks

The mallosi head is to high compression IMO and you would need to at least have timming at 15/16 deg. I could never stop mine pinking even with running a Mtech retard system and the timming retarding to 12 deg. I replaced my head with a SIP one and now its perfect.

cheers for that , well i say malossi head it has y2k + 4 pm tuning on it so i take it its a machined standard one ,

I used to have a PM tuning head on mine, couldn't stop it pinking, then tried the new Malossi, again it pinked like a bitch, put an old Taffy head on and it was a lot better.
Just setting the timing on IT isn't a sure way of setting 18deg, the mark is only a rough guide, you need to set it properly with a strobe and better setting it at 16deg in my most humble of opinions.

thanks for that joey , i really want it set up rite for my m8 its had enough probs before bringing it to me , hes getting me new bearings an seal an gaskets plus a new piston kit mite try an talk him into getting a new head for it maybe a S.I.P one , i take it i wont need to use a barrel base gasket with this
