i have just acquired this project from chris sturgess,who had the modification carried out,

it consists of a heavily modified casing to take a YZ250 crank and barrell,all i need now

is a donor frame and we're off

this is the new engine bracket rocho has machined to mount the engine,the mark

is where the bracket will be cut out for the carb

You have to cut the frame and weld it in? Who will do this, is it sure that the frame is straight after that?

yes,thats the plan,hoping it will be straight,just acquired the frame

i am a little concerned the sleeve part that fits inside the lammy tube is a little short

The slug is 25mm long and will be drlled and tig welded ,compared to the rest of the lambretta design features ie two bars welded together to make the original engine mount then i can guarentee that one of those welds would fail first ,plus i have the hindsight to know what else fits to it !

as long as your cool with it then so am i ...i have to addmit though the biggest fear regarding a lammy is how the stem to fork leg is simply reliant on the weld ...yet i have seen forks bent right back without this weld failing and have seen chop forks at a stupid lenght so much so that they flex rather the any suspention going on but have never heard any one say that they have had forks break on them
