my '59 series 1 after an accident that saw me & the scoot sliding down the road at about 50 mph when some thick plastic sheeting came off a cars
trailer that was traveling in front of me & slid under my front wheel, resulting in me being thrown off & the scoot bouncing down the road !! thankfully we both survived ! & i'm still riding the scoot to this day !

5th April 1985 heading for Morcambe.
Broken femur (on handlebars). 7 months on traction, 12 months on crutches, just over 2 years off work. Leg hasn't been great since.
Some tw@7 in a van turned right as I was coming the other way.
Got bike back from insurance company. Engine ok (Polini 220), nothing else worth keeping
